Greenpoint is a cozy, slow-moving neighborhood in the northernmost corner of Brooklyn. While hipness is all but impossible to avoid in northern Brooklyn, Greenpoint’s attitude is a bit more laidback than its neighbors. It is also easily one of the most beautiful areas in Brooklyn. The stunning waterfront views and historic buildings suggest an atmosphere that is comparable to low-key Brooklyn Heights. But dig a little a deeper, and you’ll discover a truly unique neighborhood. Its trendy restaurants, bars, and live music venues intermix with old school Polish shops and green spaces to create an eclectic and welcoming vibe. Neighborhood hot spots include: Five Leaves, The Brooklyn Barge, Glasserie, Peter Pan Donuts, McCarren Park, The Gutter Bowling Alley, Oxomoco, Paulie Gee’s, and Greenpoint Fish Co and Lobster.
A former artists’ enclave, Williamsburg is an ultra-trendy neighborhood in Brooklyn that draws the young and the fashionable from around the world. Known for being the birthplace of NYC’s hipster movement and its close proximity to Manhattan, Williamsburg has become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The old factories from its industrial past have been converted into gorgeous lofts; luxury high-rises with stunning Manhattan views line the waterfront; and boutique condos are mixed among townhouses and old tenement buildings. While the neighborhood continues to evolve with the arrival of Whole Foods, an Apple Store, WeWork, lavish hotels and more, it still maintains a hip and edgy vibe. Hot spots include: Brooklyn Bowl, Diner, Radegast, Lilia, Smorgasburg, Baby’s All Right, Four Horseman, and Brooklyn Steel.
Artists and creative types who were priced out of Williamsburg in the early 2000’s found their way to this ever-evolving neighborhood where they live alongside families who’ve been here for generations. With the influx of creatives to the neighborhood came over 50 galleries, hundreds of artist studios, dive bars, a farmer’s market, trendy restaurants, yoga studios, secret warehouse raves, and clubs that draw people from both Brooklyn and Manhattan. It can easily be argued that Bushwick is the nexus of Brooklyn’s music scene. Bushwick also has some of the most amazing street art in the entire city – and much of it is curated by The Bushwick Collective. The diverse housing stock includes converted lofts, new developments, tenement buildings, and two- and three-family townhouses. Neighborhood hot spots include Roberta’s restaurant, The House of Yes, and the Bossa Nova Civic Club.

DUMBO (short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) was once an industrial area and has since become one of the borough’s toniest neighborhoods. Its late 19th-century warehouses have been converted into luxury condominiums that line the cobblestone streets along with opulent new developments and amenity-filled rental buildings. Outdoor activities are made easy in the award-winning Brooklyn Bridge Park where kayaking, “rock” climbing, and soccer are just a few of the many offerings. If you’re feeling lazy, take a ride on Jane’s historical carousel or grab an ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory in the old firehouse building. Hot spots include The River Café, St. Ann's Warehouse, Celestine, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, Superfine, and Randolf Beer.
